On this day in August ’73,
In Hilo, where the palm trees dance with glee,
A journey began, with tales yet untold,
Life’s adventures ahead, waiting to unfold.
At Hongwanji preschool, where my learning took flight,
Naptime was blissful, with friends shining bright,
Elementary and intermediate filled with laughter and play,
Cherished moments together, those memories stay.
Memories of holidays and birthdays that fly by,
With family and friends, joy fills the sky,
High school brought challenges, a mix of fun and fear,
Navigating new halls, yet I learned to persevere.
Not the brightest in class, but I still gave my all,
Through ups and downs, I stood strong and tall.
College was a chapter that I didn’t complete,
But life had its plans, fresh paths to greet.
Moved to Honolulu, a vibrant place to explore,
Diving into careers, opening each new door.
Discovered my passion for design, with flair and grace,
Bought my first home—such a proud space!
Took up art as a hobby—who knew I’d find my spark?
Now at 52, I shine bright, leaving my mark.
Reflecting on my journey, all that I’ve achieved,
Success is my own, in the life I’ve believed.
So here’s to new adventures, to dreams still to chase,
Happy birthday to me, embracing each new embrace!
