On what subject(s) are you an authority?

When it comes to talking about what we’re “authorities” on, a lot of us might hesitate. The word “authority” feels a bit heavy, right? It suggests you’ve reached the top of your game and that there’s nowhere left to go. Honestly, I don’t think that’s how it should be. Real expertise is about constantly learning and evolving—not just kicking back and assuming you’ve figured it all out.

This reminds me of a Japanese concept called Kaizen, which is all about continuous improvement. I believe we should see our skills as something that can grow and develop—there’s always room for exploration!

For me, there are three areas where I feel pretty confident but still want to get better: communication, sales, and art.

One of my big strengths is my communication skills. I pride myself on really listening to others, which helps me understand their needs and concerns. Whether it’s a client, a colleague, or a friend, I aim to create an open dialogue that builds trust and clarity. Great communication isn’t just about talking; it’s about genuinely hearing what the other person has to say.

In my career, sharpening my selling skills has been a major focus of my growth. I actually love meeting new clients and figuring out their personalities and preferences. It’s like piecing together a puzzle! Since every client is unique, I’m always adjusting my approach based on what they need.

Still, I know I’ve got a lot to learn. Every interaction with a client offers a fresh opportunity for growth, whether it’s tackling a tough negotiation or having a good chat about their goals. Keeping a Kaizen mindset helps me see these experiences as chances to improve. The more I connect with my clients and fine-tune my strategies, the better I can help them turn their visions into reality.

And let’s not forget about my passion for art! It’s one of my favorite ways to express myself. I really enjoy experimenting with different techniques and styles, but I also recognize that there’s always so much more to learn in the art world. This keeps my creativity flowing and inspires me to step outside my comfort zone.

Every time I sit down to create something new, I see it as a chance to explore and improve. Whether I’m attending a workshop, checking out what other artists are doing, or just trying something different, each experience adds to my journey as an artist. I keep reminding myself that art is an ongoing process filled with endless possibilities waiting to be discovered.
