If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?
WP Writing Prompt
If I could throw a dinner party where everyone I invited would definitely show up, my guest list would be a fun mix of family, close friends, and some truly inspiring people I admire.
First on my list would be my family. They’re the backbone of it all, and I’d love to have everyone gathered around the table. Sharing laughs and stories, just like old times, would bring back so many wonderful memories. I can already picture the playful teasing and inside jokes filling the room.
Next up would be Barack and Michelle Obama. Their journey from humble beginnings to the White House is genuinely inspiring. I’d love to hear how they handled the pressures of being the first African American President and First Lady. Imagine all the incredible stories they’d share. Talk about a power couple!
Then, I’d have to include Chip and Joanna Gaines. Their teamwork is seriously relationship goals! I’d want to know about the craziest challenges they’ve faced while working together. After all, every couple has a moment of “Why did I think this was a good idea?” I’d also love to hear how Joanna figures out her clients’ styles. Chip’s quirky energy would keep us laughing, especially when he shares his favorite parts of renovations. He would also offer tips for the perfect “demo day.”
After them, I’d invite the legendary Maya Angelou. Having her at the table would be a treat! I’d want to express how much her writing means to me. I would discuss specific poems or memoirs that have impacted my life. It would be amazing to hear about her incredible experiences as a dancer, singer, civil rights activist, and professor. I’d love to learn from her stories and the lessons highlighted in her autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
And of course, we can’t forget the queen of comedy, Joan Rivers! She always cracks me up. One of my favorite lines of hers is, “No man will ever put his hand up your dress looking for a library card.” Classic! I’d love to hear her wild behind-the-scenes stories. With her around, this dinner would be a nonstop laughter fest!
Finally, I’d invite my dear friends who aren’t with us anymore. I often think about the hilarious moments we shared. It would be wonderful to relive those memories together. It would feel like a nice walk down memory lane, just with much better food!
Last but not least, I’d want to have an artist from the turn of the century, like Picasso or Monet. Just think of the fascinating insights they’d share about their creative processes! Their stories would be like getting a masterclass in art while we pass around the bread rolls.
This dinner party would blend family, laughter, inspiration, and good vibes perfectly. With all these amazing guests, we’d share stories, enjoy delicious food, and celebrate the joy of connection and life. I’d probably end up rolling away from the table, full of laughter and great memories.
